Yinka Shonibare CBE's Modern Magic (in Pink), 2022, is currently on view in the group exhibition ‘Between Before and After’ at Cristea Roberts Gallery. In this work, Shonibare pays homage to African contributions to modernism, by highlighting the importance of African masks on Picasso’s paintings and sculpture. The edition features the artist’s signature wax batik fabric collaged into areas individually hand cut from the prints.
