The Institute of Contemporary Arts and Sotheby’s have joined forces to raise funds to benefit the ICA in its 75th year. Yinka Shonibare CBE's Modern Magic (Bangwa Queen), 2022, is included in the 75th Anniversary Auction alongside works generously donated by more than 20 internationally renowned artists.
The artworks are currently on view at Sotheby’s London until the Contemporary Art Day Auction on 15 October. Proceeds from the auction will support the future of the ICA which, since its inception, has been a progressive, alternative, and safe place for artists who are looking beyond the mainstream: the ones who are willing to go beyond the status quo, the artists who take risks and defy definitions.
Participating artists include Hurvin Anderson, Alvaro Barrington, Andrew Cranston, John Currin, Enrico David, Tacita Dean, Marlene Dumas, Nicole Eisenman, Ida Ekblad, Denzil Forrester, Isa Genzken, Robert Gober, Antony Gormley, Merlin James, Anish Kapoor, Raymond Pettibon, Richard Prince, Prem Sahib, Thomas Struth, Tenant of Culture and Wolfgang Tillmans.
