The World Reimagined's final installation of 96 globe sculptures will be on display at London’s Trafalgar Square on Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 November. In what promises to be an unmissable moment at the landmark location, the sculptures will invite families, businesses, and communities to explore how we understand our shared British history; and how the past—particularly the UK’s relationship with the Transatlantic Trade shapes the future.
This ground-breaking, mass participation art education project seeks to transform how we understand the Transatlantic Slave Trade. More than 100 large-scale globes were installed in several cities across the UK each bearing the commentary of artists and creatives both on the slave trade, as well as their past, present and future relationships with Britain.
The project is curated by The World Reimagined's artistic director, Ashley Shaw Scott Adjaye and features work by both emerging talents and internationally recognised artists, including Vashti Harrison, Phoebe Boswell and The World Reimagined’s Founding Artist Yinka Shonibare CBE.
