The Lagos location will focus on art, design and curatorial practice. It's hosted in an award-winning building in Oniru, designed by Ghanaian British architect Elsie Owusu in collaboration with Nigerian architect Nihinlola Shonibare, whose practice NS Design Consult were also responsible for the interior design concept and delivery. The building houses a multifunctional studio and gallery space with accommodation and shared living space for the artists-in-residence.
The second residency space, near Ijebu Ode, is for artists, agriculturists and researchers and has been created with sustainable infrastructure whilst ensuring that it also delivers food security for the local community. The expansive Ecology Green Farm is home to a wide variety of animals and produces harvests of crops including maize, peppers, corn and cashew. The building on site is designed by Papa Omotayo and features interior design by Temitayo Shonibare.
